HYDRATE

I’m not sure where you are, but where I am it’s HOT!...which is why I’m writing to say how important it is to stay hydrated. Water is an essential nutrient for the body, and even mild dehydration can drain your energy and make you fatigued. Severe dehydration can lead to illness. So drink up and stay hydrated with these natural beverage choices.

Water. When it comes to purified water, the possibilities are endless. For hot summer days, higher pH water with electrolytes will be your best option. But for something different, you can also try flavored water. Look for ones without sugar, artificial sweeteners, colors of flavors.

Coconut Water. Also called coconut juice, this natural isotonic beverage is high potassium and other electrolytes, making it a great fluid replacement beverage for exercise and sports events. And it has no added sugar or sweeteners, making it an even better choice than the common sports beverages. Coconut water is also found combined with natural fruit juices.

Tea. Tea is one of the more popular beverages available. Choose from antioxidant rich black, green, oolong, white or rooibos (red) teas, or a variety of herbal tisanes. Brew tea with hot water, then pour over ice for a refreshing iced tea to cool you off on a hot day. Or try one of the many ready to drink bottled teas available.
